Dr. Nga Yan Siu
Dr. Siu is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist. She earned a Bachelor of science degree in Biology from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She then received her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM). While at NYCOM, she was also in the merit-based Academic Medicine Scholars Program, in which she spent an additional year in medical school conducting supervised research and gaining medical teaching experience. Through this program, she also received a Master of Science degree in Neuromusculoskeletal Sciences.
Dr. Siu completed her internship and ophthalmology residency at St. John's Episcopal Hospital. While seeing patients as an ophthalmology resident in the underserved areas of New York City, she developed an interest in the field of glaucoma. She subsequently pursued a glaucoma fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital.
Dr. Siu sees patients for routine comprehensive eye exams as well as those in need of glaucoma evaluations. In addition to performing cataract surgery, she also performs standard glaucoma surgeries, including trabeculectomy and glaucoma tube shunt implant, and microinvasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) using various devices.
In her free time, Dr. Siu enjoys traveling and trying new food with her family and friends. She also has a great interest in fine arts and classical music.
